WEATHER IN TENERIFE
Tenerife is one of the islands belonging to the Canarian province of Santa Cruz. This island of volcanic origin is the largest in extension and population of the Canary Islands. Like the rest of Canary Islands, its temperatures are influenced by the Trade Winds (more visible in the north) and the tides, which leave a mild climate throughout the island.
What is most impressive is the contrast in temperatures: while it is colder and rainy in the north, it is warmer in the south. Although it is also worth noting a curiosity: La Laguna and Santa Cruz are less than 10 kilometers away and both have a different climate. While La Laguna has more rainfall and colder, in the case of Santa Cruz is possible to enjoy warm days. Is not it curious?
All these contrasts are due to the subtropical climate and microclimates of the islands, so it is easy to find areas at 16 º C and 25 º C a few minutes away. In addition to the northern area, the central area of the island is home to Tenerife's most renowned site, Las Cañadas del Teide and its National Park where, due to the altitude, temperatures are lower.
Tenerife is one of the preferred destinations for visitors to spend their holidays; and they have plenty of reasons to do so. On the island of Tenerife we have temperatures in summer that range from 26ºC to 29ºC while in winter they drop to between 16ºC and 21ºC.
If you doubt between what season is the best to travel to Tenerife, do not think twice. With its stable temperatures, is always a good time to travel to the island of Tenerife and enjoy its black sand beaches, cliffs, mountainous areas, the Teide, La Laguna city World Heritage Site.
