Arucas

The city of Arucas is one of the essential visits you must make if you come to Gran Canaria. This is one of the most populated cities on the island and where you can find places of interest as outstanding as Arehucas Rum Factory and Church of San Juan Bautista, commonly known as the Arucas Cathedral, one of the most representative images of the city of the island.

Where is Arucas?

Arucas is the seventh largest municipality in the province of Las Palmas and the fifth largest, with an area of 33.01 square km, as well as a density, according to data from 2017, of 11131.99 inhabitants / km2. It is located in the north of Gran Canaria, 17 kilometres from the capital, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, one of the municipalities that borders Arucas, together with Moya, Firgas and Teror. 

What can I do in Arucas?

The first thing you should know is that Arucas is one of the most important cities of Gran Canaria, and therefore, it is a place where you will not get bored. High patrimonial value in its archaeological, religious and civil elements such as the caves of Tenoya, the Church of San Juan Bautista (the cathedral of Arucas), or the whole old town of Arucas, declared a Cultural Asset.
