Tufia village and beach

Perhaps this place that doesn't appear in many travel guides about Gran Canaria as one of the essential of the island due to the lack of knowledge about the place, but this wonderful corner must be without a doubt. Located in the municipality of Telde, this beach is one of the must-visits in your holidays in Gran Canaria.

The characteristics of the place, its white houses and a small beach with black sand and crystalline waters are more than enough reasons for you to spend a day in this beautiful place. Also in Tufia is one of the best areas for sports such as diving or snorkeling. So, if you are visiting Gran Canaria and you are a lover of these sports, we recommend 100% that you visit Tufia and make some dives in the area: clean waters, plenty of flora and fauna and perfect weather conditions are some of the factors that make it so. In addition these factors and many others have served for Tufia to be declared a Site of Scientific Interest.

Everything you need to know about Tufia

One of the most important things is how to get to Tufia. You should know that although the road is not very complex, you can find some unpaved area, until you reach the parking lot, where you can leave the car to go down a small path to the beach. If you come by road from the south, you must take exit 13 towards Tufia and take the first exit. After that, you can't get lost until you reach your destination.

Tufia is not a very busy place and not very touristic so it is advisable that you take everything you need for the hours you are going to spend there; in other words, water and food. There are no shops in Tufia, although in one of the small houses on the beach, a lady sells some products to eat and drink, but it is better not to take any risks and take them from home.

Finally, and as a recommendation, it is better to make sure of the hours of low tide on the beach. Tufia is very small and if the tide rises you may run out of room to put a towel as it is barely 40 metres long. If so, you can always cross over to the other side, just 5 minutes to Aguadulce beach, a wider beach of golden sand but without the charm that Tufia has.
