Las Canteras Beach: one of the best urban beaches in Europe.

Considered the Pearl of the City of Gran Canaria, Playa de las Canteras is one of the best urban beaches in Europe, considered so by the tourist life that is breathed in the center of the city. Without a doubt, it is an enclave where you can walk, have a coffee or practice sports in the middle of the capital and which has a wide range of offers, not only gastronomy but also sports, shopping and culture, accompanied by a good climate all year round.

This title is not only due to its natural charms, but also to the quality of its services and its great avenue full of life in the heart of the city: a place where you can enjoy calm waters thanks to the Barra: a natural stone barrier that prevents the waves from reaching the coast with force, as well as offering multiple areas full of marine flora and fauna, perfect for snorkeling and discovering the underwater beauty.

Throughout its mile-long promenade, you can enjoy terraces, bars and restaurants where you can have a good meal of fried fish of the day; enjoy the sea breeze or even go down to the sand and get ready to surf or bodyboard. For surfers it is one of the best beaches in the north of the island.

At the end of the promenade (or at the beginning, depending on where you start from) you will find the amazing Alfredo Kraus Auditorium: a majestic concert hall where not only the Las Palmas Philharmonic Orchestra performs, but where many different artistic and musical shows take place. This auditorium was named after the well known Gran Canaria tenor Alfredo Kraus, a pride for all the people of Las Palmas.
