Shopping in Fuerteventura
SHOPPING IN FUERTEVENTURA
Fuerteventura is a paradise island with countless beaches of golden sand and crystal clear waters; with a sacred mountain known internationally, Tindaya and with picturesque villages that leave no one indifferent. But Fuerteventura also has other charms: its commercial areas and markets to do your shopping on your holiday on the Canary Island. Do you want to know which are the best?
Firstly, talking about big shopping areas we have four important shopping centres in Fuerteventura.
C.C. Las Palmeras in Corralejo in the northwest of the island: an open-air area with many shops of top national and international brands and a restaurant area with terraces where you can recover your energy.
Las Rotondas Shopping Centre in Puerto del Rosario: a modern complex with a wide range of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities where you can spend a wonderful day shopping in the capital of Fuerteventura.
CC Atlántico Fuerteventura in Caleta de Fuste: probably the busiest shopping centre in Antigua and all of Fuerteventura, with dozens of different shops of the top brands, toy shops, jewellery shops, supermarkets and leisure areas such as restaurants and a cinema. Without a doubt the best combination to do your shopping.
CC El Cotillo Gallery: this small shopping centre has a view of the sea where you will find shops to cover all your needs as well as a space for the island's artisans where they show their work in jewellery, openwork clothes and gastronomic products.
You can also do your shopping by walking along one of the pedestrian and commercial streets of the island:
León y Castillo Street: this open-air shopping avenue is located in Puerto del Rosario and you will find top brand shops and a multitude of ice-cream parlours, cafés and restaurants where you can taste Canarian products or have a coffee to continue shopping.
Nuestra Señora del Carmen Street and Diputado Senador Velázquez Cabrera Street: two important streets in Morro Jable where you can visit shops for all tastes and pockets. From perfume and fashion shops to boutiques, sports shops and Chinese bazaars. Moreover, if you walk along its maritime avenue you will be able to reach Jandía.
But if you want to get away from the typical shopping that you could do anywhere in Spain and Europe, we suggest you visit some of the typical markets of Fuerteventura.
Los Lajares Craft Market: held on Saturdays, is the craft market par excellence in Fuerteventura. An open-air place where you can buy the best local craft products: jewellery, products made from recycled materials; as well as Canary Island cuisine.
Traditions Market (La Oliva): held on Tuesdays and Fridays, it takes place in the Casa de los Coroneles, a historical house where you will find a diversity of local products such as openwork clothes, silver and leather products; and products such as aloe vera, majorero cheese, mojo and jams made by the local people.
In short, Fuerteventura offers you everything you may need to do your shopping on your holidays on the island, you only have to choose from the wide range of possibilities it offers and choose the best products at the best price.
