Canarian gastronomy is worthy of being tasted for its fresh products, the exotic flavour of its dishes and the variety of them. Fuerteventura is one of the places in the Canary Islands where you can best eat in all its areas, from Morrojable to Corralejo, including all the villages on the island, such as Betancuria, Tarajalejo, Ajuy or Gran Tarajal, among many others.

What can you eat in Fuerteventura? 

One of the most representative and characteristic emblems of the island of Fuerteventura is the presence of goats all around the island. From them come many products and dishes of Fuerteventura as the goat meat or cheese majorero. The last one is classified as one of the best cheeses in the world because of its spectacular taste and elaboration method. 

One of the most famous dishes of Canarian cuisine and also in Fuerteventura are wrinkled potatoes with mojo picón, which you can taste in almost all bars and restaurants in Fuerteventura. Moreover, with the addition of doing it in a terrace with good views as in the beach of Morrojable or the Avenue of Jandia in the south of the island. 

Gofio is another local product that you can't miss when visiting Fuerteventura in its different ways of preparation. The most common is the "gofio escaldado" which is perfect to serve with a delicious wine from Fuerteventura. Another way to taste gofio is with the famous "pellas de gofio". No doubt two perfect ways to eat a typical product of the Canary Islands like gofio.

The presence of seafood products in the Canary Islands' cuisine is essential. Fishermen and shellfishermen work from the very first hours of the day to bring the best fresh products to restaurants of Fuerteventura. Eating cherne, sama or Vieja can be a perfect plan to taste the flavour of Fuerteventura.
