General information of Granada

In Granada there are many interesting areas that it is almost impossible to choose between them but if we have to do it we choose the centre: its streets, its shops, its bars and restaurants and above all its people.

There are plenty of monuments in our city, but Granada offers us much more: spend part of your visit discovering its streets and how the people of Granada live. The daily life of the city and how its people live it is something essential to really get to know it, from the inside.

Despite the rise of the shopping centres in the periphery, Granada still maintains a rich local commerce of small shops that flood the streets of the centre: Calle Recogias, Reyes Católicos or Zacatín. Shoe shops, clothes shops, but also something that you will only find in Granada: its craftsmanship that ranges from embroidery on tulle, Fajaluza pottery or guitar shops. But the centre is not only the area of Capilla Real and Catedral, it is worth exploring a little further, because in just ten minutes walk you can be in the Realejo or in the area of the Duquesa quarter or in the area of the Basilica of our patron saint: La Virgen de las Angustias.

The best way to move through these areas of interest is undoubtedly on foot. Granada is small and easy to walk around and if you do it with our gastronomy even better.

Granada is the city of Tapas and there is nothing like discovering the city by living it as the locals do: a vermouth (herbal wine), a beer, a wine or a soft drink. You choose but what is never missing is the tapa that accompanies any drink and besides the tapa is free. You can have lunch or dinner alone with the tapas, there are even some places with a tapas menu where you can choose the one you prefer: meat, fish, vegetables, everything you can imagine but in small portions.

Navas street, next to the town hall, is one of the best places, but for example in Realejo the Campo del Principe is also a great place. If you want to get out of the centre, the area of the Palacio de los Deportes or the Campo de Fútbol de los Cármenes is also a great place for tapas and there the tapas are XXL size.
